Study: Comparative W chromosome sequences between two bobycid moths, Bombyx mori and Trilocha varians
show Abstracthide Abstract
W chromosome is female specific chromosome in the most of Lepidoptera. However, W chromosome are known to accumulate repetitive sequences which inhibit correct assembly. To perform correct assembly of W-linked sequences, we utilized long-read sequencing and optical genome mapping technology. Here, we report the successful assembly of W chromosome of two bombycid species, Bombyx mori and Trilocha varians.
